'SMC group was established by Shri Sewa Ramji, a well respected entrepreneur from Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India in the year 1982 when he started a Paper Mill. The group entered in steel sector in the year 1988.
Their group Company SMC Foods Limited entered into dairy product business in the year 1993. Subsequently, another Company in the name of Creamy Foods was also established for dairy product business. Our 'MADHUSUDAN' brand for dairy products e.g. Pure Ghee, Skimmed Milk Powder, Dairy Whiter etc. is a well-known name in entire India. We have recently been permitted to export our dairy products to overseas Countries.
SMC Power Generation Limited was incorporated in the year 2000 and entered into memorandum of understanding with the Government of Orissa to established an integrated steel plant. In the year 2003 within 12 months of signing of Memorandum of Understanding, the Company could established their plant with capacities of Sponge Iron 100000 MTPA, Billet 100000 MTPA & Power 33 MW The Company went for expansion in the year 2008. To optimize its size and avail economy of scale, it has started further expansion in 2009by enhancing capacities of Sponge Iron, Billet & Power production at a projected cost of Rs. 770 crores. This expansion is expected to be Completed by 2012.
The Company has already established a Rolling Mill with production capacities of 100000 MTPA by using 'THERMEX' technology. Its product 'SMC THERMEX 500 QST' is a well-known quality product in steel sector.
The current respectable presence enjoyed by the SMC group of companies in business circles stems from the ethical and value based business policies adopted by their management team of Shri S.C. Aggarwal, Shri M.C. Aggarwal & Shri C.P. Aggarwal. This team have not only ensured business volume growth but also garnered strong goodwill in corporate world.
